Before your Cardiac rehabilitation telephone appointment with a nurse, you will first be contacted by a Cardiac rehab assistant who will confirm your details and advise you on your recovery in the first couple of days once you home.
We aim for Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurses to contact you within 2 weeks of receiving a referral.
The nurses will contact you via telephone or video link at a time convenient to you. This phone call can take around 45 minutes as we will discuss a lot. It might be useful to have a pen and paper with you during this call.
Nurses will discuss the following;
- Improving psychological wellbeing and confidence.
- Education.
- Lifestyle risk factor management.
- Physical activity and exercise.
- Healthy eating / weight management.
- Stopping smoking
- Medication management
